I received a sample bottle of Bay Rum Acadian Spice after shave from Brian at Kramperts Finest. Not like any other bay rum product I have ever tried which only smells of spices, burns and disappears in a few minutes this wonderful after shave is two things in one. First you get a spicy yet subdued after shave with the properties of a fantastic and healing balm. The best part of this experience is NO BURN. My face feels so good after using it I can't believe it. What a remarkable product this generous gentleman has developed. So price, even if I had paid the retail that I see others mention would certainly be worth every cent and still receive a "10" from me. Quality: Simply superb. I've not used another product that worked so brilliantly. Mr. Krampert has a market changer on his hands here. Fights Razor Burn: I have nothing in my post-shave arsenal that works as well as this bay rum for repairing my skin after a harsh shave. Cooling Sensation: N/A Scent: To put it nicely I have only ever tolerated bay rum scents and my wife has vetoed each bay rum I've let her sniff. Krampert's Finest is the only bay rum that I thoroughly enjoy the scent of and even my wife likes it. She still doesn't like the smell of it in the bottle, but something magic happens when it interacts with my skin and then it get's a two thumbs up and even a wink! Efficacy: This stuff is the epitome of efficacy for an aftershave product. It removes any irritation and repairs the skin from a rough or harsh shave. It doesn't require a horrible alcohol burning sensation to do it either. It does not dry out your skin, in fact it has better moisturizing capability than many balms I've tried. It leaves my face/neck feeling refreshed, smooth, and soft after each use. Bottom line is that Krampert's Finest actually accomplishes what all other aftershave products set out to do. Moisturizing: This is the reason that Mr. Krampert shared his product with me. I have pretty dehydrated skin which causes my face to overproduce oil and gives me an oily complexion. Most splashes leave me way to dry and tight while most balms leave me greasy and sticky. This bay rum hydrates my skin amazingly. If I need more moisturizing then I just use more product. It never leaves my face with that Sahara desert dry and tight feeling that so many other alcohol based splashes do. It's quite amazing what Mr. Krampert has accomplished with a splash type aftershave since it moisturizes better than many thick balms. No Alcohol Burn: Being a bay rum I was kind of expecting a decent burn when applied after a rough shave. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of this. The most I could say that I've noticed is a gentle warming sensation that just feels comforting. Maybe that's all those quality ingredients going to work helping to repair my skin. I said it before and I'll say it again... Krampert's Finest Bay Rum is a market changer. He's put together the best aspects of a splash, with the best aspects of a moisturizing balm and delivers it all in a classically masculine scent that makes you feel confident and wise. You won't come across as some punk kid who you can smell coming around the corner. You also won't be wondering where this amazing scent disappeared to just minutes after application. It's there subtly all day if you really look for it. This is surely the bay rum of gentlemen! Thank you for a wonderful product! Brian provided me with a VERY gracious sample of his Bay Rum Aftershave, through Badger & Blade forums. I am new to wetshaving, and I have only used very few aftershaves prior. First thing about this aftershave is its scent. I LOVE IT! Its light, lingers even into a shift at work, but does not announce your entrance into a room. It does add moisture back to my face, as long as I apply it generously. That is the nice thing about this aftershave, you can apply a hefty dose and not smell like you bathed in it. I do not enjoy using lotions/balms on my face, and this product is perfect for a man like me. Thank you, Mr. Krampert, for your generous sample, this will be an aftershave I keep in my constant rotation!

Overall, I think its a great product. Its actually rather unique in my experience in that it doesn't quite fit the splash category, but it isn't as thick as a balm either. It applies like a splash, but feels thicker than most alcohol based splashes. Yet it doesn't feel heavy like many balms do. So I assume that it is alcohol based, but it doesn't normally give me any burn. One time I had nicked my neck rather badly due to negligence, and I did feel some burn then, but with normal use there is no alcohol burn. As previous mentioned, the scent is great. I'm fairly new to bay rum scents, but I do really enjoy the smell of this recipe. I find the moisturizing level very good for a splash. It isn't on par with most of my balms, but it isn't heavy like a balm either. It dries without shine, and provides the right amount of protection. I did have to use a good amount for my face to feel comfortable. I would say I used about a quarter sized splash or so. I think my skin needed the "full" amount to really feel good afterwards. But when applied in that amount, I didn't feel any razor burn or dryness afterwards. You may want to market it as a best of both worlds splash/balm: More moisturizing than a splash, but without the burn and not heavy/oily like a balm. Regards, Nick

Dear Mr. Krampert: I'm writing to offer you my highest compliments for creating an excellent product which performs exactly as you stated it would. I have never been too keen on bay rum preparations, at least those I've purchased in the past. However, I was recently interested enough to order a bottle based on the recommendation of the aftershave reviewer of Krampert's Finest on Badger and Blade. This week, during my family's annual vacation in Cape May, NJ, I used your aftershave exclusively each morning and evening. I don't like to use suntan lotions, and with the strong sun and lack of clouds this week, my face took a bit of a beating. Your aftershave performed admirably, not only post-shave, but also providing excellent relief of the sun and wind burn on my face from our many hours on the beach. The nice fragrance was also a hit with my wife, son and daughter. I will continue to use it when I have returned to our home in the woods, and the ocean becomes once again a pleasant memory. I used the aftershave for the first time this morning. To give it a fair shake for irritation relief I did not use witch hazel post-shave as I normally would. As per usual, I had quite a bit of redness and irritation along my jawline. I applied a small amount of the bay rum and I could tell it was very moisturizing, but in a subdued way. It's not sticky or greasy at all. My face has been moisturized all day and the irritation went away within a few minutes of application. The scent is a little strong out in the bottle, but finishes very nicely once on the skin. If I had one complaint, it would be that the scent didn't last long enough. But, the irritation relief and moisturizing properties make me want to come back for more. A+
